One part alkali activated materials: A state-of-the-art review

This article assesses the state-of-the-art for research on one-part alkali-activated materials, with particular emphasis recent work dealing constituent preparation methods, fresh properties, mechanical and durability characteristics. The review, which covers over 170 studies, first discusses different precursors, solid activators, admixtures, aggregates used within such materials. Preparation techniques of materials are then addressed, including pre-mixing treatment, mixing curing, 3D-printing. Reaction mechanisms resulting binding phases also outlined, followed by a detailed discussion fresh, sensitivity compressive strength to precursors activators varying chemical compositions, is examined, predictive equations proposed common mixes. A brief comparison between characteristics two-part AAMs design standards as well health environmental aspects. review concludes suggestions future key applications, due consideration projected availability sustainability activators. It shown that despite significant developments further progress necessitates focus optimising mixes made from other than fly ash blast furnace slag, investigations structural members components.
